Stense Andrea Lind-Valdan’s solo exhibition at Huset for Kunst og Design
Galleri Maria Friis is proud to announce that Stense Andrea Lind-Valdan’s biggest solo exhibition to date VE (WOE) will open on April 20th at Huset for Kunst og Design in Holstebro. The exhibition brings together Lind-Valdan’s most recent as well as older paintings, photographs and drawings.

For the exhibition VE, Lind-Valdan has worked with the theme of pain. In Danish “ve” is most commonly used for the contractions, that occur during labour. Together, the exhibited artworks deal with a broader conception of pain defined across species and historical timelines.
VE displays a new side of Stense Andrea Lind-Valdan’s practice, where paintings on canvas and photographs from Pompeii among other places, evoke the art and cultural history of the past in a montage depicting life, pain, hope and death.
