Emmarosa Liebgen
Emmarosa Liebgen is a Danish artist whose practice spans painting, sculpture, and etching. Her works orbit themes of loss, remembrance, and impermanence, taking shape as fragile vessels for what might otherwise slip away. Human and natural forms fold into one another: bodies erode into soil, blossoms sprout faces, and recollections solidify into silver-framed fragments. Rather than resolving emotions, her works allow them to hover, to remain unfinished. Grounded in feminist and ecocritical perspectives, Liebgen’s practice reflects on fragility, care, and female experience. Like shards assembled into a weathered mosaic, her works appear as partial yet enduring remnants, delicate but dense with time.
Emmarosa Liebgen (f. 1997) is educated from Funen Art Academy. She has exhibited in various group exhibitions such as Sitrende at Galleri Maria Friis (2024), Everything is Connected at FAA Project Room (2024). Earlier exhibitions include A Thin Layer of Bark Surrounds Us at Projekt Parleur (2022). Her works are represented in collections such as Egmontfonden, Danske Bank, The Plant, and Middelfart Kirke.
