Orsolya Bagala’s duo exhibition AUTONOMI with Martin Brandt Hansen at Ringsted Galleriet is now open!
The exhibition is on view until 05.10.2025 and is curated by Morten K Jacobsen and Heidi Hove.
The exhibition AUTONOMY confronts identity and origin with contradictory and conflict-escalating aesthetic devices. It is high and low, yes and no, smashed together into a muddled maybe. In this immediate, contradictory artistic match – with the stringent, cool display case aesthetics of Martin Brandt Hansen and Orsolya Bagala’s contorted, fiery, gestural painting – there is a shared desire to derail clarity. For both Bagala and Brandt Hansen, their cultural origins are the source of exploration. It is the conceptual versus the expressive, while at the same time borrowing from each other’s artistic “standpoints”.

AUTONOMI will take place both at Ringsted Galleriet and at one of the oldest local car dealerships, Selandia Automobiler.
