Concurrently with her solo exhibition at Politikens Forhal, the gallery’s represented artist Lina Hashim has transformed the square with a temporary public artwork created in collaboration with Politiken’s Forhal and the City of Copenhagen. Here, Danish red bricks – echoing Per Kirkeby and suburban architecture – blend with the geometric elegance of Middle Eastern ornamentation.

The exhibition is on view un January 4th, 2026.

Find the stars at both Copenhagen City Hall Square and Borups Plads.

A mentioned,  the sculptures are presented alongside Hashim’s exhibition in Politiken’s Forhal, where she explores how women with a Muslim cultural background are visually and linguistically portrayed in Danish media. To read more about the exhibition, click here.

The project is generously supported by the Danish Arts Foundation, the Obel Family Foundation, the New Carlsberg Foundation, the Foundation of June 15th, Bispeengen Urban Development, and Politiken’s Forhal.
