Marie Munk

Munk is an interdisciplinary artist working with sculpture, installation, video, and performance. Her work explores the impact of technological innovation on our environment, behavior, and bodies. She creates alternative realities that blend the playful with the eerie, using silicone to comment on society’s relationship with the body.

Munk exhibits internationally, often collaborating with artist Stine Deja. She has shown her work at venues such as MU Hybrid Art House, HeK, PERMM Museum, and EXPO Chicago. Represented by Galleri Maria Friis, her works are in collections at Arken Museum of Modern Art and Ny Carlsberg Fondet.

Munk received a three-year working grant from the Danish Arts Foundations in 2022 and has been recognized with several awards, including the Carl Nielsen og Anne Marie Carl-Nielsens Legats Talent Prize in 2020 and the Danish Arts Foundation award for her project with Deja in 2018.
