Fragments of Me

A solo exhibition with Lina Hashim

We’re pleased to announce the representation of Copenhagen-based artist Lina Hashim. Her representation at the gallery coincides with her solo-exhibition at the gallery: Fragments of Me, opening Friday 21st of February.

During the evening, Lina Hashim will give a performance. We look forward to welcoming you to the opening, where we will serve cold refreshments.

Danish-Iraqi Lina Hashim explores the dual perception of Islam and gender, both as a woman with a Muslim background and as a critical observer. Fragments of Me presents a powerful selection of works from different periods of Hashim’s career, investigating and revealing the hidden layers of oppression faced by Muslim women. The exhibition presents mirror mosaics, calligraphy and blood-filled carpets, all of which together form a collective narrative while also reflecting facets of Hashim’s life. The focal point of your gaze will shift when confronted with Lina Hashim’s works, which reflect both the beautiful and the brutal.
