The gallery’s represented artist Julie Bitsch opens her solo exhibtion at Ågalleriet, Frederiksværk today, March 29th, 2026.

Excerpt from exhibition text:

Across the three works in Åsyn and Mine respectively, Julie Bitsch constructs and deconstructs a portrait, painted in wax, cast in bronze and then meticulously embedded within the plaster casts. But can one speak of a portrait if there is no specific person to whom the portrait refers? In whose image are these portraits created? In each image, the recognisable elements of the portrait dissolve until pure abstraction remains.

The exhibition is on view until April 18th, and can be viewed Thursday to Sunday 13:00-16:00.
